Walking Each Other Home is located on the original lands of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.  Allyson works, lives and plays on the lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Red RiverMétis. Allyson acknowledges that her water is sourced from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation.  Allyson respects the Treaties that were made on these territories and acknowledges the harms and mistakes of the past.  I dedicate myself to move forward in partnership with First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.

Allyson would also like to commemorate the many lives of Black,  Indigenous and People of Colour whose lives have been cruelly cut short from killings, injustice and the impacts of systemic racism.  As a white settler person with unearned privilege, I commit to doing the personal, organizational and community-wide anti-racism work that must take place.

Allyson acknowledges that the colonial history of Canada has actively had a harmful impact on 2SLGBTQI+ people. Allyson supports full equality for the 2SLGBTQI+ community where 2SLGBTQI+ people are safe and respected everywhere. This starts with coming together to support everyone's self-worth and dignity by calling out discrimination, homophobia or transphobia wherever we see it.
